Patago is pleased to announce a guiding arrangement with Esquel Outfitters.
Our Argentine guides will be the reason your return to Patagonia for many years to come. Being born and raised in Patagonia gives them complete knowledge of the people, foliage, animals, history, and most of all, the fishing. They will pick you up at the airport, and from that moment forward they will be your host, guide, translator, driver, sometimes cook, and your friend. All our guides speak fluent English and are experienced in rowing and instruction.
Marcos Jaeger Marcos was born and raised in the Esquel and Cholila area. He has been guiding fisherman to his local waters for more than 12 years now, and is as accomplished of a guide as he is a fisherman. He is also the proprietor of El Trebol, which is one of the lodges you will be staying at while fishing in the Los Alerces region. His persistence, patience, and humor will provide you with enjoyment all day long in his boat. Marcos is fluent in English, German and Spanish.
Patricio Graziosi Patricios’ reputation as one of the finest guides in Argentina is well known and accounted. He has been guiding the waters of Patagonia for more than 17 years. His knowledge of all the regions of Patagonia is unsurpassed by anyone. He has been featured on “In Search of Flywater” as well as many other fishing publications. A day spent with Patricio will most certainly leave you with a new best friend. Not only will he guide you into wild trout, but most certainly you will receive an education on Argentina, its people, history, and culture. Patricio is fluent in Spanish and English.
Nico Martin At the young age of 27 Nico represents the future of this sport in Argentina. Already Nico has an impressive guiding resume and don’t let the age fool you. He has guided for 9 years, in places such as Tierra Del Fuego, Jackson Hole, San Martin, and all of our regions. He is a certified casting instructor and his English heritage has taught him perfect English and manners. He as also been featured on “In Search of Flywater”.
Ricardo Trabuco Ricardo was born and raised in Argentina. Without a doubt he is our most animated guide and most certainly will have you in tears of laughter by the end of the day. Ricardo has been guiding for over 15 years and speaks perfect English. Ricardos’ patience and demeanor will make for enjoyable days on the water and at the dinner table.
Diego Martin Nicos’ brother and protégé, Diego, will provide you with a great day of fishing. His skills are equal to that of Nicos, as well as his knowledge of the waters. Diego has been guiding for 7 years and is fluent in English and Spanish as well. And if you get the pleasure of having a streamside asado prepared by Diego, you will never forget the experience. He is truly a master of the parilla.
